Automatic dog ball launcher: how it works and if it's worth it

If your dog brings you the ball over and over again until your arm hurts, an automatic launcher is the next best thing to having someone play with them when you can't. We'll tell you how ours works, which dogs it's for, and how to teach them to use it.

How it works

The dog drops the ball in the top and the device launches it for them. The Mimbo automatic ball launcher has 3 distance settings, from about 6 to 14 meters, and comes with 5 58 mm balls. It is USB rechargeable.

Which dogs is it for?

For small and medium-sized dogs, especially those with a lot of energy who never tire of fetching the ball. Only use 58 mm balls: if your dog is large and could swallow them, this launcher is not for them.

Can it be used indoors?

Yes, at the short distance setting and with clear space in front. The long distances are for the garden, terrace, or park.

How to teach them to use it

  1. Let them sniff it while the device is turned off.
  2. Toss the ball toward the launcher yourself and reward them when they drop it inside.
  3. Turn it on at the short distance setting and repeat.

Every dog has their own pace: some catch on in an afternoon, while others need several days.

Safety

Do not stand in front of the launch opening, take breaks so your dog doesn't get exhausted, and do not get it wet.

How long does it take to arrive?

It ships from a warehouse in Germany: about 3-8 business days depending on the country. It costs €99.90, VAT included.
